Another Bootskin Post! Run Away! Run Away!

I did a search of the last 35 days worth of posts that had "Bootskin" somewhere in the subject and I found nothing relating to my issue. So here goes. Apologies in advance if I missed the solution.
My color palettes are OK. I know how to turn .bootskin files into usable bootskins. I even know how to make a new bootskin.
Anytime a progress bar is shown in a bootskin, it jumps back and forth and is generally spastic in motion. P4 3 GHz w/HT enabled and an ATI 9800 Radeon graphics adapter.
Anyone else seeing this?

OK, guys....let's try to find an alternate word to 'spastic' as that pertains specifically to those with cerebral palsy, which I am certain is not the case with a bootskin progress bar.
The word is demonised by degrading reference, so much so that 'The Spastic Society' which helps care for those afflicted has been forced to dissociate itself from the connotation and rename to 'Scope'.
Just some 'facts' to show how educational the Net really is. My personal issue is that my Wife has been a Speech Pathologist with the Society for approx 22 years so let's just say that it's equivalent to referring to an 'African American' as a 'nigger' and leave it at that.
The word you want is 'spasmodic' or 'erratic'...

The progress bar is currently spastic on win2k. This will be fixed with the soon-to-be-real all-new version of BootSkin with VESA support.
Unlike other boot screen changers, BootSkin actually uses kernel mode code to manipulate graphics on the screen. The best way to explain it's functionality is that it's like WindowBlinds for the bootscreen. This means that in order to update the progress bar, progress has to actually be detected - on XP I simply know when they're going to update the progress bar. On 2k things are a little more tricky.
The next version of BootSkin will simply cause the progress bar to update from a lowest-priority thread, which should simulate the real thing.

I built my system....when the processor first came out using an ASUS P4G8X Deluxe MB. Still saving up to upgrade video and sound. Any suggestions?
