XP Pro, All Users, and WindowBlinds

Tuesday, December 9, 2003 by Stupendous Man | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I asked this in the help section and was unable to find an answer -- BTW, thanks for the effort Travis.

So, now I'm wondering, if I install WB in the ALL USERS folder, would that make it possible for my wife to use a different skin than I am using? You XP guru's think that'll work?

I can't test this out right now since I'm at work.

As always appreciate the help, info, advice, etc.

No, I believe that you must install WB on each account, but then I'm the only one on my computer so am not dead sure that this is the case

no you don't have to. Just Install it normally and both accounts can support a different skin. I created a new account. Then went into into it and put the woody skin on it while my normal account is using alienmind. I had to use the windowblinds configure dialogue to make it work though. Also it has administrative priveliges.

I've checked 4.2 with a limited user account and it can do a different skin. Granted, I didn't check XP Home, but that shouldn't matter. You must install under an Admin user to begin with though.

It works the same with XP Home.
