looking for plugin testers

Monday, December 8, 2003 by feline | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

i have finally returned to playing around with plugin's.

is anyone interested in acting as a tester for me? so far i have 2 Keyboard LaunchPad plugins ready to test, with a third one in the planning stages.

one simply disconnects your dialup network connection. very useful for me, and i am planning its companion of a dialup net dialer plugin.

the other finished plugin opens and closes the CD-ROM of your choice i liked the KLP feature to open the drive, but wanted it to close it as well. also, KLP only supports one drive, hense my plugin

if anyone is interested, i will port this across to DesktopX.

longer term, i am hoping that Stardock will add a KLP plugin section to wincustomize, so i will finally be able to upload something of mine

excelent

i am aiming to send the email tonight to you two. with a bit of luck, i will also include my experimental DX plugin. its very basic, and solves a long standing request of mine for easy access to a colour picker dialog

email is sending now

there will be a delay on the colour picker plugin. it works, so long as i dont try and save any settings. however, with save turned on DX no longer loads i need to do some more work on this one

I'd be interested in the dialup plugins, if you get them ported to DX. Being a confirmed Mouser, I'm don't use KeyBoard LaunchPad.

Koasati, what sort of dialup plugin are you interested in?

currently i have a DX/OB plugin that reports how long you have been online. it is a bit ruff around the edges, but can be neatened up if anyone is interested in using it.

i also have a KLP plugin that disconnects me. this one will be very simple to port to DX.

the only one left that i am planning on doing is a dialler. i have found some info on writing a dialler, so i am thinking of seeing if i can write one as a KLP plugin. however, for DX i am not sure that this offers much over a desktop shortcut to your dialler.

This plug-in really helped me tonight! My CD tray wouldn't open at all! I remembered I had tested this, and it opened right up!

Is that CD tray opener available for DX yet? I'd really like to have that...

feline bounds to GM's rescue!

DX? i heard of that once feline tries to remember what a desktop is

i have one around here somewhere, under 23 windows. yep, 23, i counted.

since you are interested i will have a look at porting this over to DX.

thinking of plugin's, i now have the KLP dial and disconnect plugin's working

if anyone on dialup is interested then let me know. currently the dialer is hardcoded to my connection name, but it shouldnt be hard to make it more generic.

I would be interested in those dial-up plugins as well. At last someone who thinks of us poor people!
