Watch Out for NVIDIA and there NVDVD player

If you buy this player and you have to reboot your computer your code does not stay the same.If your computer crashes 3 times in one year they will not give you a new unlock code,nor will they credit your account. I like ATI grapic card much better then NVIDIA. Just thought I would tell everyone what NVIDIA will do to it paying customers

NVDVD 2.55 does not have product activation, where you got this story about the crashing is beyond me. As i have been using 2.55 for sometime now.

Lets say if you buy there DVD player which is know as NVDVD they will only give you 3 unlock codes in a year. I think the code should stay the same.Most products the code stays the same.My computer had crashed 3 times in one year do to something I had downloaded and when I called them the supoervisor was rude and said see would not give me a new unlock code for the DVD player

My solution to activation schemes are those nice little apps that crack the programs. Please note that I am not advocating warez in any form. I am simply saying this is a convenient way of maintaining full use of your purchased software.

jmcjmk: That seems very, very odd. You are saying that every time you install that software you have to contact them for a new reg code? Or that if you lose your reg code 3 times in a year they won't give you a new one?
This is confusing. Perhaps you could point to a page at the support site that gave you the impression that re-installing on the same machine more than 3 times in a year was not allowed?

Works super here and all three of my computers. I love Nvidia and ATI. Maybe it's just your computer and has nothing to do with Nvidia.

yeesh... "In the event that your software needs to be re-installed, you will need to contact nVidia in order to unlock the software."
What it seems to say is that the software is installed in the form of a trial. In order to activate it, you have to have an unlock code. If you uninstall it, you reinstall the old trial and request another activation code, which they have to approve you to get. If the above is true they cut you off at 3 activations in a year. I assume the code is one use only.
Is this the way it seems to work, Voodoo? Sounds like a really, really crappy way of doing things.

I paid for the DVD player, my computer I had to reboot 3 times in one year I mannaged to get NVIDIA phone number.I had tryed emailing them telling them I said I need a new unlock code that did not work.no one from that company emailed me back.So I got their phone number and see told me she would not give me a new unlock code nor would she credit my account and she was very nasty about it .

Been using NVDVD since it came on the scene and never once has it had the things jmcjmk is talking about, NVDVD2.0 came with the NVIDIA GFX card here and upgraded to 2.55 in the summer, still never had what he's on about.

Are you talking about product activation? If so, most companies will make allowances for more than the allowable installs in a year if you contact them directly and explain why. You might as well get used to it. Almost every recent software package launch in the last year has included some form of it, XP, MSOffice, Macromedia, Adobe...
