When it comes down to it though... the choice has to be yours, as both cost a decent amount of money.
Whatever you eventually choose though, shop around, as many stores often bundle a bunch of stuff into a package. ..... oh, and wait till the "after Christmas sales" to get it if you can.

Gamecube, a few must own titles came out for it like Resident Evil, Mario, Zelda and Mario Kart being the latest so I bought the system.
Xbox, Halo... uhmm... whens Halo 2 coming out? Only reason I got a Xbox was for Halo.
If you want to play FF X and FF X-2 then I'd say you should get one.

XBOX: Good effort by Microsoft, but they really should just stick to computers. Mostly concentrates on FPS.
PS2: Has the largest library of games. A good choice.
GameCube: Another quality product from Nintendo. Built solid and less likely to break. Zelda beats any Epic/RPG series.

The Coolest games I like are GTA III, GTA ViceCity, Sims, Sims2, SimCity 4, SimCity 4 Rush Hour, WWE Raw and Raw2, WWE SmackDown series and a lot like them...
What games like them come on GC or DC. They are Only Avaliable at PC, XB, and PS2.

nintendo has no place in my house.
| Zelda beats any Epic/RPG series. |
WHAT? NOT TRUE. Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 9 as well as 10 has won more awards, and is more popular, and is liked more.

I dont think any of the "BIG 3" , umm.. how was it put.. suck?
But if you already have a bunch of PS1 titles that you still like to play, there's a plus. And my fan isnt so loud. I cant even hear it unless I put my face in the machine, and once I am playing, as someone noted, I tend to have the volume turned up on my TV. And there are a ton of PS2 games to choose, so many great new titles have just been released. Besides, if you really like the Final Fantasy series, then your decision is made. I just started FFX, and whooboy! And I'm seeing the standard PS2 here in NY for $179, the online PS2's for $200. Add $25 for a PS2 memory card. As of yet, I havent seen a third party memory card for PS2, but I did find a Sony 2pack for $35. Anyway, have fun Kona

I don't like games where instead of actually duking it out in the battles, you make choices. I like Zelda better because there are puzzles to solve and you really get to hack away at the bad guys with your sword.
