Clock not skinning in WindowBlinds 11 on Windows 11
Saturday, February 25, 2023 by Digicoma | Discussion: WindowBlinds
Hello everyone,
I have done a search on this topic, and perhaps I'm going about "search" wrong, but I wasn't finding any hits to my query.
Anyway, my WindowBlind Skins aren't skinning the clock in WindowBlinds 11 on Windows 11. I'm just seeing the generic Windows clock that comes with Windows. Is this a current issue with Windows 11? Or might there be something wrong on my end?
In the event it is something on my end, what would I do to resolve this issue.
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
Sorry if I was not clear before. I will post a screenshot as well as hopefully give you a better description.
Using WindowBlinds 11 on Windows 11, none of my skins are showing the "skinned" clock in the toolbar. Instead they are showing the standard out of the box Windows 11 clock.
Here is the way the clock on one skin is supposed to look (this image is from a WindowBlinds preview):

Here is the way the clock appears on the same skin for me currently:

So you can see the difference on how it's supposed to look vs the way it looks on my system. All of my clocks display this way. They are supposed to look one way when they are skinned, yet they look like the standard Windows 11 clock even though they are skinned.
Since all of my clocks are not being skinned, I didn't know if perhaps there was a problem with my system, or if there was some sort of current issue between WindowBlinds 11 and Windows 11 that causes clocks not to be skinned.
For the record, in the past I have run Windowblinds on Windows 10 and not had this problem. So I didn't know if the problem lied with it running on Windows 11 for that reason. The only other situation would be is there is some sort of problem either in my configuration of WindowsBlinds 11 on my system, or rather than a configuration problem, something is broken with my install in some way.
I was hoping you could shed some light on to what might be happening, and how I could go about resolving the issue.
Thanks.

Yes, I can reproduce your issue on my system. I think it something to do with how Windows 11 handle the clock font. To be sure, I have forwarded your problem/question to Stardock Support Team and Dev for their view on it. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

This is normal for Windows 11. The clock paints differently on that version of Windows.

This has been driving me mad for a while, glad I'm not alone. If I use WinAeroTweaker and revert to Classic Taskbar the clock font changes, but file explorer will not open, so there must be some explorer/taskbar code changes in Windows 11.

Use explorer patcher to re-enable the 10 taskbar if you wish to have a customizable clock. Some winaero tools are not designed for Windows 11. Windows 11 is slowly starting to lock down certain elements...

Oh, well at least it sounds like there is a workaround for now. That's better than nothing at all.
Thank you!

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. To be clear, when you said "Clock not skinning", what do you expect to get skin by Windowblinds. Perhaps, you have seen it be done on Windows 10? Please elaborate.
Thanks
