SkinStudio dark explorer missing options
Friday, January 20, 2023 by SimplexDesigns | Discussion: WindowBlinds
So I'm trying to make a theme that uses the Auto Dark/Light mode. However, skin studio does not seem to have "Dark Explorer Background (Win 10)", "Dark Explorer folder bar background (Win 10)" and (Dark Explorer text (Win 10) options. Setting these options affects both modes.
Windows Settings set to dark mode. Its Pulling those options.

As seen stated in other posts, they've probably read this topic & just not replied, they have a bad habit of doing that.

Hi SimplexDesigns,
I'm looking the issue and I was able to reproduce it.
One thing that I would like to mention is that, that setting specifically, only work on Windows 10, it will not work on Windows 11, there's no way to set a custom color for the Explorer background on Windows 11, due the changes that Microsoft did to the OS.
On Windows 11 the Explorer background will be either white or a very dark grey, almost black, depending on the mode set in the OS. With this in mind, it would be safer to design your skin thinking that the the Explorer would use one of these two colors.
Another thing to keep in mind is that if you set Explorer background images on SkinStudio, they may overwrite the color settings, again, only on Windows 10.
As soon as I have any info that can help on this issue, I'll post back.
Regards,
Dani

Thanks for verifying the issue. I should note that that option does change the background color in windows 11. I have done so on multiple themes as least on light mode. Below is my steam theme set to dark mode and it pulls from explorer background under windows 10. We just need a "Dark Explorer Background (Win10)" for when in dark mode since that option clearly is changing the color to what is set.
