Longhorn and WinFX

The Microsoft Developers Conference http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2003/oct03/10-27PDC03NextWavePR.asp has showcased Longorn. What I found interesting was reference to WinFX,"the Next-Generation Windows Programming Model".
About 1/3 of the way down the story: "Also delivering a keynote address at PDC was Jim Allchin, group vice president of the Platforms Groupat Microsoft, who introduced WinFX, the application programming model for the next generation of Windows, and a number of new Windows platform technologies for developers. WinFX evolves the Microsoft .NET Framework’s programming model, greatly increasing developer productivity as well as application security and reliability."
Presumably this has nothing to do with the Windows FX we use in ODNT.

I don't anyone should use the words "Microsoft" and "Stardock" in the same sentence, after all, Stardock should develop a OS!

I am awaiting Longhorn myself...From what I've seen and read, it looks good. I hope they get rid of that ugly side bar thing(ducks)..

Longhorn will be very cool. I predict it will bring customization up to a new level. Only question is -- how LONG will it take to do it.
As cool as Longhorn will be, Windows XP is going to be the dominant OS for the rest of the decade.
