Can Vb "borrow" icons from other apps?

Friday, October 24, 2003 by manny walker | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I am trying to make a visual basic program and the icon I'd like to have is on an app on my hard drive. VB only lets me use ICON files for my programs and wont let me use icons from some .exe. Is there a way I can copy the icon or get it to work with vb?

Extract the icons from the .exe first. You can do this with many programs...check download.com. Also, if you have IconPackager, it comes with IconExplorer which can also do this. Then you can use the icons for whatever you like.
