Just got what u ppl looking for. Belcfire has released a soft known as Inno Logo that changes boot screens without touching system files
Inno Logo is a Windows BootScreen replace tool. It lets you replace the standard Windows XP/2000 BootScreen with any image file you like!
It allows you to easily and safely replace the standard Microsoft bootscreen with any image file you like. No more downloading ntoskrnl.exe files and replacing them by hand or using a program to try to manage them. No more confusion over whether a given bootscreen is XP or XP + SP1 compatible. No more loading bad bootscreens that can render your system unbootable. With Inno Logo, you install it once and then change your bootscreen with the click of your mouse.
The Windows bootscreen is actually an executable file with a 16-colour bitmap using a custom colour-palette compiled into the file. Traditional bootscreens, such as all of those posted on Belchfire.net, are simply re-compiled executables containing a custom bitmap. When you change your bootscreen, you must actually replace the bootscreen executable with a new one. This opens up the possibility of loading a bad bootscreen, potentially rendering your system unbootable. Plus, Microsoft made changes to the bootscreen executable with the release of Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Windows XP. So again, if you happen to load a non-SP1 compatible bootscreen on an XP + SP1 system, you can run into problems.
Inno Logo eliminates these problems. The bootscreen executable is never actually replaced. Plus, Inno Logo automatically detects which operating system you are using so there is never an issue of loading an incompatible bootscreen. Don't take chances. Try Inno Logo today!

I will also wait for Stardock to come up with an application to do this. I trust Stardock. Their "beta's" are even more stable than most others "releases"!

Enh - still, maybe I'll give it a shot on my notebook tonight and give a report of how well it works. 
Right now, I'm busy fighting with Mandrake 9.2 on my desktop downstairs to see the same (how well it works.)

Folks....this soft is really safe (no problems with me @least).....however I m waiting 4 SD's Blast.......till that I will have 2 uze this >

I posted about that program in the August news article thread regarding bootscreens. 
You're the first person I've seen who's posted that they've actually tried it. Still, I think I'll wait and see what SD comes up with especially since SD says they plan to offer it as freeware.

Twenty dollars?? No thanks, I too will wait for the Stardock software, it will probably be much better anyway.
