Actually all images used for CursorXP are .png [or at least all of the images I use]
The size of the cursor image varies according to how the author makes it. Normally it will be 32 X 32
To create .png images make sure that on your graphic program you check the transparent background when creating a new document or create new layers to make your image and before saving as .png remove the background layer [which usually has a white color by default]
