There have been talks about updating the Wincustomize site to meet the "new" website ui-standards for some time now...

You'd think a skinning site could "skin the site."
I think the issue ended up that with all the cross-linked forums connecting all the sites having one skinned/skinnable would adversely affect all the others. Back in 2001 there wasn't the same integration between sites...

I am using a darkmode addon in my browser to not get blind everytime I enter the site. Looks quite decent, too.

I'm willing to bet it's another thing that's Microsoft's fault.
MS decided to release an uncooked OS [or 2] that has all the Dev guys fighting to keep up with the proggies we want to skin....rather than spend time on the site that displays them.
Hm, so You say the games and Stardock's site updated themselves as a sudden miracle?

Sorry, but it looks dated also. Was good and nice 'years ago' though.
It is, in fact, dated. Jorge is working to update it. Some links don't work because the sites don't exist anymore.
However, graphically it's outstanding. It's dark, yonks before that was "the thing". It's design is, imho, gorgeous...but that's in the eye of the beholder, so you're welcome and entitled to perceive it as you do.

I became an old fart myself but Windows 7 like design aka 'glass bars' is a thing of the past IMHO.
