New WC poll on new library next month

Monday, October 6, 2003 by sig101 | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I just noticed that WC is planning to add a new library next month. Some of the poll's choices for user input aren't surprising: Rainlendar, Trillian and even boot screens.

But there is also the option IE/Explorer Toolbar Icon Sets. Does anyone at WC/SD know if this is a reference to a specific app? Like Y'z Toolbar? Or something else? (I think I recall SD previously mentioned revamping WebBlinds but at present WebBlinds only changes the IE toolbar icons. So this also caused me to wonder if there are any plans for a new WebBlinds type app on SD's "to do" list or just it's just not on at all for the near future.)

I voted for "something else". I think DX (once more people start using it) has more potential than rainlender.
Having read most of the posts here, I would now vote for IE /Explorer toolbar icon sets.

Boot Screens??? People really want to customize thier boot screen (Must voted for at this point and high in general)

I am not saying I like seeing Microsoft's but I have nothing against it. Plus, it is the OS I am using so no big deal.

Now if I was a Lunix user... Maybe Litestep (replaces Eplorer shell)...

Just never really thought of it as popular.

I wonder why to answer to a poll if surelly decision is already in the box ...

anyway there's also a nice featured skin at the moment ... https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?Library=3&SkinID=2926

I voted for IE/Explorer icons on the poll assuming this means using Y'z Toolbar. I feel with Y'z Toolbar you can attract users looking for new icons to download. At this site they will notice there are other programs that allow them to change the look of their desktop even more such as Cursor XP, Windowblinds, Objectbar, ect. They might take a look at these apps and decide to purchase one or more of these programs or become Object Desktop subscribers.

I also think it would be nice to be able to modify Explorer's toolbar to match the Windowblinds skin and Iconpackager icons I am using. Imagine having PixOS icons in Explorer's toolbar to match the PixOS theme instead of being stuck with XP looking toolbar icons.

According to SD in the second post of this thread, WindowBlinds 4.2 will have the ability to skin and use icons in IE and Windows Explorer toobars.

Madam Snowman - Check here: Link

that link just doesnt want to work for me, and neither does

http : //www.samurize.com

without the spaces. i left it a couple of days, but it still doesnt want to work

feline considers prodding google

ahha! this wasnt much help in getting a working URL, but i did find the comment:

Samurize is an system monitoring application for Win2kWinXp, that can display information about your system right on your desktop, and uses almost no memory!

this rings bells, i think i have heard about this before.
