It works with ME/98. Install and download foood's icons, click on it and it will apply it.

Info on foood's site.........................

Most of the icons on this site are 32 bit alpha blended made specifically for Windows XP & will look crappy on Windows 98/Me/NT/2000.

Kona. Kona. Listen to China Cat. Get a new OS. Get XP. You will be astonished at the difference between 98 and XP. For all its' faults it is the best OS MS has put out.

How many times do I got to tell you people:

233 mhx CPU
128 EDO RAM
3 Gig HD

I have to muster up enough funds to get a new PC. Right now funds are being directed to my ultra cool new Bicycle.

Why do people that still live in the 'Stone Age' with Win98 insist on saying such negative things about XP? Last time I checked it was 2003...almost 2004.

Spyware?...One big difference for us XP users...We can disable all those services that you have running on 98...You can't

Well i'm not considering myself living in "Stone Age" because i use Win98 ... and it works perfectly, and i don't think all the people i give tips on microsoft french newsgroup are thinking so too ...

Some people have no need to upgrade, so why do it?

I know that I'm planning on sticking with XP a very long time, probably waaaaay past when the next version of Windows will be shipped.

Sorry paxx...If you drive a 'Yugo'(win98) then upgrading to a 'Ferrari'(WinXP) is a wise choice, if it's in your budget...even if 'you think' the Yugo is fine...No comparison

paxx...honestly, you have to admit the jump from 98 to XP is nothing but beneficial to the end user

I will stress this point once again for you all. I DO NOT HAVE A MACHINE CAPABLE OF RUNNING XP. this machine has a hard time with ME as well. After my bicycle is complete I will built or buy a new system. I am thinking of a dell. >

Kona...I wasn't even talking to you.

Please care to tell us all 'HOW' you do it on 98

and if you think your 98 runs 'Very Fast' with your specs...well...There is nothing no one could say to you

I hack some of the system files... and I tell my firewall to not let anything microsoft related through the wall so it can not call home.

maybe you could rephrase that one. I do not get it. After all, my machine was made back in the windows 95 days. It even has a 95 logo on it.

As far as that...Do you even know what the 'System Requirements' are for XP...Obviously not.

These may be minimum requirements but it is enough to run XP:

PC with 300 MHz or higher...233MHz minimum.

128 MB of RAM or higher recommended(64 MB minimum supported).

1.5 GB available hard-disk space.

My sister has about the same specs as you and we went ahead and loaded XP even with the low specs she doesn't crash anymore...with her 98 it was 2-3 times a day

Zodiac...

I have tried XP on my machine and since I also had XP on a 2.2 Ghz machine (this was a long time ago) I could not stand how SLOW it acted compared to my fast system I have no patience for slow machines. So I put 98 on and it has never locked up or given me the BSOD.

Kona, I wouldn't suggest running any Stardock software on that PC.  We don't even test on that low of a system.  The thought of the video card that is in that PC scares me.......

I think what Zodiaq~ was saying was that *nothing* can run "fast" on a 233.......
