Tats? For or against and why?

I'm not a big fan of tats...I think they are [for the most part] a bad idea because skin eventually sags and well...the ink just sags along with the skin...just kinda creeps me out.
I do think some men look kind of sexy with them...I must admit.

My hubby can't wear his wedding ring where he works (he works in engineering on really big engines) since one of his co-workers got his ring caught on some machinery and lost his finger (ouch!) So, I told my hubby he should have my name tattooed like a ring around his finger.
I'd get a tattoo, but I'm too chicken

I am into them, but draw the line with the Tribal face tat's some are getting.
Anyone watch that guy on the HBO special who was trying to start a new form of body art, totally under ground from what he was saying?
Anyway, he paid this guy this guy to shoot him with a 357 through the fleshy part of the shoulder so it would go straight through without hitting bone...
he crid like a baby !!!!!!!!
I couldn't believe it, the guy is being all tough and stuff and this other guy picks up the gun and says I'll count to three and points it at him, 1 BANG !!!!
Dude drops to the floor SCREAMING and rolling around shouting "YOU SAID THREE"

Lecrayon....the point is that 'natural beauty [is] best' dismisses, or implies dismissal of an important significant artform....and hardly 'good form' for a student of Art....[OK, so my sister hates them too...and she's an Honors Degree'd teacher in Art]...go figure....

Jafo, to be honest, I don't see any art in tatoos either. I see it more as self-mutilation.

I thought the question was for or against...An elephant in zebra skin or an ape with red lipstick is maybe a form of trying to make yourself unique, to me it just deforms the creation of the species, which in itself is beautiful to me.

OK....and killing scarab beetles to make pigments to create oils for some Renaissance fop to spatter over woven fibre is not deforming a species.....the scarabs would beg to differ....

I don't like tat's myself either. Women with a tat across their lower back actually scare me. A slightly tanned woman in a nice bikini is one of the most beautiful forms of art I have seen. And a naked woman's body, in private, is also the most beautiful form that I have had the pleasure of seeing. And everyone's body is different, and that is art in itself. To me, a muscular body is also a great art form. And, its great when a woman likes to feel the curves. lol.
To me, the rest is distraction and disrespect to the one that created that most beautiful art form. But, I respect people to do what they please to themselves since it doesn't hurt anyone else.

Don't like tatoos. I think they are ugly. But if someone wants to have them then that's OK with me.
