yes gabriel is one great skinner but he is long gone, all we can do is try our best with sks but it is only allowed for personal use.
i see you are an old member who must be very familiar with sks, give it a try. i'm not allowed to share anything graphics related, but I don't think anyone will stop me from answering questions about coding if someone needs.

How did you make the background for the searchbar?

and to make the search icon also disappear, you need to make a blank png image (i usualy make it 5x5px), then import it:
