Ok I have created another wall paper and this is the theme...It is called American Omega, I am sure you can see why. I made this purposely dark because all of the cool things you can use for bright icons and the what not. Like a cool wally for a space theme or something. I am open to suggestions to improve this and make it as best I can... Now I do like it currently and am only looking for a couple critiques to make it better, not change it....Originally the sun was completly black with a blue ora, but I decided to give it some depth and ligthing inside of it...
I hope you like, ,, PS7 Wacom and mouse... this is not the full size...

I recall (was it?) Madice's thread and then later the creation of the Help and Skinning messageboards which aren't getting used as much as they should because people continue to post such issues here in the "general talk about nothing, everything or just silly stuff and other OT discussions" messageboard.
And frankly, now that I've seen the works in question (I only could see red x's before for some reason) I simply cannot believe all this talk of Van Gogh, Matisse, Monet or whoever and "REAL graphic designers and artists," etc when all I'm looking at is a Big Pumpkin! Good Golly Miss Molly.
Right off the top of my head one person who I think might credibly be able to conduct a reasonable discussion about Art and those Impressionable fellows would probably be Lecrayon. (No slight to others and not that others couldn't but from the work I've seen I think something like Lecrayon's Fall wallpaper might do well as a print or painting in a museum or gallery at least IMO). And at least he certainly wouldn't be inviting implicit comparisons with those "REAL Artists" with just a freakin giant pumpkin and some dizzy spermatodes to his credit. Sheeeeesh!
Perspective, people, perspective!

| They should be in the 'Help' board or maybe the 'Skinning' board.....as that is their intention....and the image/s SHOULD be linked or at best limited to preview size.....in order that they are not technically being distributed by the Wincustomize site itself.... |
hey you know, Jafo's got an idea there

The fact is this. My pics I "link" here take 0 space and if the post dies then so does the exsistance of my picture. Meaning if 10 people say you need to work on this and that, then hey guess what, I am not going to submit it and I am going to work on this and that. If 10 people say wow you made some real improvements and that is worty of submiting then hey, I am going to submit. I do agree that I should not post the full version, which this time I didn't I posted a 650width image that "NOBODY" can use for a wallpaper. <<<
All in all this is a webcommunity and for the few days I have been here, A DAMN good one at that. But I do have to say it kind of sounds like you worried about your moderation responsibilities perhaps going away, and I am saying that no matter how popular this process ever becomes, your job as a mod is still safe. And I know that untill my work gets good enough to submit and approved by professional "moderators" then I will continue to try.
If all your doing is telling me to go over to deviant art and submit my stuff there and wait for a response, (which you can't because your one in a billion) then why would I even try to submit anything here? or come to this site?
Food for thought but in this case, I think the community way is the best way.

| What's a community? A place where people get together to pursue common interests, socialize, and help each other. |
Help each other, thats what i'm gonna do for you. Take some advice from someone new, keep your head down and your eyes and ears open. Listen to what these people have to say, they can help you alot. They have been around alot longer than me, and I pay attention.

One thing you have to remember is that this is a skinning community. Most people here only make the walls to accentuate their skinning works and themes. One thing I have learned here is, keep trying and eventually you will learn. As far as posting your work on another site instead of here, I say you should keep trying to improve your wall and get it posted here, just to show some that you can and will be successful! So I say keep the faith that you will succeed and keep trying different things, you may come up with a quality work of art, and show it to the world.
Sorry to ramble, but I have been following this for awhile, and thought you could use some cheerful words.

Two moderators have already stated that would be acceptable for people to do

I like the idea as long as it doesn't end up abused causing the death of the wall section completely. Which is what was/is behind my position about posting images in threads of full blown walls.
Or even links so that the site ends up being used as a funnel for non-moderated walls which would most likely end up with the death of the wall section if it continued over a period of time.

naitsirch79, you seem to be missing the point, so I will state it in simple terms: There are three boards. This one is not the skinning discussion one. The skinning discussion one is the skinning discussion one. If you want to converse about how to make a submission better, post it in that board. However, if this type of behavior ends up flooding the boards with walls that would not make it through moderation, it will not be allowed. This is a skinning site. Wallpapers are an added bonus. I can easily see this being abused.

Ok, here's what I think about the thought of expanding this site to actually have a dedicated wall area.
It is not ever going to happen with people just making passing comments which ends up being a flaming tantrum in the end on both sides of the issue.
BUT...
Maybe if some people got together and actually put some time into showing some kind of model, a plan proving an ROI (not specifically money in saying that) which proves out the positives of such expansion. Those whom make the decisions would be more accepting of it.
Also, an overall plan while having it broken down into smaller parts where things could be added to or removed from, adjustments can be made and then people whom wish to be a part of it volunteer as needed to keep it running smoothly, while also those taking part in it or it's use are willing to help off set any extended costs for that specific addition to the site.
There might be a chance of it actually taking root.
But as I stated above, until people put something more than passing comments or tantrum bordering posts into it, it doesn't stand a snowballs chance in hell of happening.
Some already want it, everyone knows that, what has to be done is for those whom wish it enough to work on presenting, Is to give solid reasoning behind its existence and also to show a need for it in a positive manner. Then maybe those who make these kinds of choice will accept it as a positive addition and something to put the time, money and effort into it as they can, or they might actually decide they would like to see it happen also.
anyway....
None of the above negates the fact that posting Wall submissions in the message board is wrong because it is a flagrant dismissal of the set policies and procedures pertaining to Wall Submission on this site.
