Desktop X objects dont move

Tuesday, September 16, 2003 by JDW7985 | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Im not sure if I'm doing something wrong but none of my DX objects will move, ni=or will any weather objects work. Is there extra scripting that has to be done in order to get these things to work properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What version of DX are you running? Some objects are specific to DX 2.

You might try upgrading to DX2.

I thought that the latest beta is considered Dx2. Is there a download for DX2?

I think 2 was recently released, if you use Stardock Central you will find it there. If you don't then look at StarDock.

No, someone else did awhile ago, but they never came back after we suggested DX2. You rebooted and everything?

yeah , Its wierd because as long as the object stays in one place they move but only in that one place. Object that are suppose to move across the screen just sit in one spot. The fish will act like their swimming but still stay in one spot.

Well we are at the end of my ideas, but there are experts about that might know. You might try writing support.

The only other thing I might think of is to start with a blank theme. Perhaps the current one has some constraints applied?

Load blank theme and then unload DX. Go to C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\DesktopX and delete 'user'theme folder. (user will be your name). Reload DX and try your objects. Save theme as you load each object (that works) until you get to one that doesn't work. That way you don't have to start all over again.......

There is a newer update to DX2 in SDC now if you haven't checked. 1.99i I haven't had any issues with things not moving. Btw make sure you have the MCP core installed also for DX2 now.

And goodmorphing, all betas are number just prior to the major release number, so 1.99 is DX2 in beta. It has not been released yet
