game development

Tuesday, September 16, 2003 by Styl-X Design | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

someone from styl-x came on the idea to create a game, (will probably turn out as a 1990 shooter with lame graphics and green blood )
it is going to be a simpel shooter, but not with fighting in the main part. We want it to be more like indiana jones. We are quite far already and are having some cool 3d models. (the game will simulate the year 2900).

It will support futures like driving a cars/planes/bikes etc.

Now I had this question, if you have a game, and want to spread it around the internet or more, is there a company that helps you with that?

I heard that hasbro interactive gave out games from developers, is this true?

thanks

I doubt you will need it but if you need any help with the 3D stuff let me know, if I know how to make it or animate it I’ll be glad to help.

Do you have your own render farm or are you using some one else’s?

I am rendering stuff at 3 pentium 4's. Its not THAT big yet, at this time we are mainly working on the codes to get the verhicles and enemies moving properely.

it would be nice if you had some experience in .wdl files Dreamdesgin

Have not a clue what .wdl files are but maybe can make a few objects for you depending on what formate you will need them exported to. I am using 3D Studio Max 5

KarmaGirl knows nothing about game development companies...

KarmaGirl hides the Drengin network under the carpet....

why do I keep talking in third person?

I think I can make 3D Studio Max script that would allow you to move the vehicles in real time with the arrow keys on your keyboard so you could drive them were you needed them to go in the animation.

ah, that could be intresting, but we build it in 3dgamstudio Is a bit more worked out for gaming.

oh, btw, could you export those bullets (from the wall) to a 3dsmax model, would be great to have those in!

Home of the Underdogs would host it, most prob.

Not posting a link, as I'm iffy on this sites stance on abandonware.

Speaking of third person though, is your game going to be in third or first person?

g-max...

you might consider making addon packs for known games which you can sell as shareware or what have you to build capitol for developing your game.

g-max is free and uses the graphics engine/rendering for games like Quake and such.

Just sent the brass bullet to you.

Let me know if you need any thing else. If you’re going to do any movie tracks with the bullets or any thing else and need any help export some objects so I know what size to make any thing else that would have animation. I can make those have the bullet trail too like in the matrix if you need it.
