Well, VF's says it was taken from a screenshot. It might very well be the same for the StyleXP skinner. I know there is a corona skin that is damn close to Alexadnrie's, but they are both originals copied from the same style. We need more details...

I think Voodoo_Freak wouldn't go so crazy to rip other's skins.

I was thinking it was the StyleXP as the possible rip...it's a crappy picture so I can't really tell. We all know Voodoo_Freak wouldn't rip something.

In the strictest sense, since they're both based on the Longhorn UI then both could be taken as rips.
However, the graphics of both skins are totally different from each other, so neither skinner has ripped from the other.

I don't think that it is a "rip".  They just look a lot alike because they
were inspired by the same source.  The gradients and edge detail look
different, also.  Plus, I have known Voo for quite some time, and even
though he's insane, he doesn't rip other's work.

Styl : No rip IMHO as this is taken from a MS Mediaplayer design originally.

c242, it can be taken from that design but it 'matches' 100%.

I am sure its the pixtudio's skin converted to a .theme file.

Well Longhorn known as Plex has gone through some major changes from those shots now. Quite a lot of it has my own unique look now which includes M3, M4, M5 and Aero which is almost complete but just not had time to put it altogether. As i am building Longhorn like a development blind showing all its changes from all the alpha builds.

As the blind was based on Official Plex screenshots, not msstyles people as you'll notice most of msstyles themes come bundled in a installer which i dont trust plus you'll see theres more than 30 Longhorn msstyles on ThemeXP that have been made which are no different.

The reason i made it was because noone else made Longhorn for WindowBlinds or other sites that ive seen.

I hate to be all technical, but if a work isn't truly copyrighted, and put out on the net for public consumption, then I would say that the term "rip" cannot apply, and that the work is public domain, free to take and change however one chooses to do so.Just a thought......

No. 75, such is true but only for personal use. You cannot take someone else's theme change it and then distribute it under your name as if you created it, unless ofcourse you have permission to do so. Otherwise it is considered ripping.

No.75.....yes, if the work 'isn't truly copyrighted', however there-in lies the rub......ALL works are copyrighted....no, they DO NOT need to be 'registered' as such. Anything created solely by one individual remains the property of that individual and cannot be publicly distributed in any form, modified or otherwise....without PRIOR CONSENT of that individual.

Understand, appreciate and respect that and we'll all get along just swimmingly....

I understand what you all are saying. Ripping may not be nice, but without a legal copyright, your argument is moot.
