Anyone else end Explorer?

Saturday, September 13, 2003 by MdPhoenix | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I'm now running Object Dock, Object Bar and Sysmetrix. I can' see why I'd need explorer. Besides the fact that it sucks up 50 megs for some reason when it's running. The only thing I've lost is use of the Desktop. I think I can get over that.

Anyone else do this when you're running enough of the alternatives?

http://windowsx.techconnect.nl/enhance/index.html, download optimizerxp basically it makes explorer a separate
service so that it runs only when you need it. I have been using this for about 3 weeks now and it even has a restore shield function should you have any trouble, tho I haven't had any.Note tho, I think this is only for WinXP....

Hmm, and I've always thought that taskbar and explorer are the two most neccessary files to run windows.

I haven't used the Windows taskbar since early 1999, I certainly hope it's not neccessary.
