Oops, my desktop go boom.

Wednesday, September 10, 2003 by alhim | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

So, anyone feeling helpful today? I used desktopx and thought most of the desktops I downloaded were kind of nice in some ways, but a bit amaturish and not very functional. I uninstalled the program, and figured Id reinstall it some time later when I wanted it again. Unfortantely, now where my desktop wallpaper is is half of my Internet explore home page stuck there. I can move it back and forth some, but I dont know how to make it go away and get my old desktop wallpaper back without half of IE being there in the way. strange.
Help! And thanks for your time.

Sounds like you've got your active desktop enabled. To disable it, right click on a blank spot on your desktop and click on properties from the menu.
click on the "desktop" tab, then "customise desktop". On the "web' tab, uncheck any item that is checked and that will disable your active(live) desktop. To choose a wallpaper, go back to the desktop tab and choose the wallpaper you want then hit "apply" or "ok" This procedure is for winXP, but if you have another version of win, it should be similar. Sorry you think the themes here are "but a bit amaturish " , I kind of like them
