ObjectDock upload

Wednesday, September 10, 2003 by ama02 | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I made a generic PNG graphic for my ObjectDock, for a font viewer/manager. I'm thinking of converting it to an icon as well, then uploading it to the OD library here. What I'd like to know is...what sizes of icons should I be creating?

Thanks ss, but I was asking what sizes of icons (.ico) are needed.

Objectdock doesn't need  icons (ico). .... png works just fine.  But, I have uploaded a small set of Dock icons, with png, and ico, thinking people might use them for things other than OD. If you want to include ico files, any/all sizes are cool, up to 256x256.

Yes, that's what I was thinking of doing. I figured I just bought IconWorkshop...might as well use it for something.

You can use a 256x256 icon in OD, it will simply resize it to 192x192.  (same with a 256 png).......  I think YZDock can use a 256 ico (don't quote me on that),  but always keep in mind........ resizing an image smaller will generally always looks better than visa-versa.

okay...just noticed the sizing slider has a max of 192 pixels for the objects...so I'll just stick to the 192 size.

most of the icons look blurry or pixelated when used on the dock...that's why I'm going through and creating some png versions.

I'm not sure...since I had just dragged/dropped the application's shortcut to the bar...so I imagine those were the small version (either 16 or 32?), and it's also possible whoever created the icons for the specific applications may not have done them in the best possible quality.

Koasati, you have PSP8? The default icon leaves a lot to be desired.

Standard program icons were never meant to be displayed at 192.Most dont even look good at 48.

Yeah, that's perfect example of of resizing a small icon to a larger size......... it looks like poo

Here's the icon I use for PSP 8   https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=29&SkinID=849      (shameless plug)
