can i get some help with object dock

need some help with object dock....again lol (as if these threads haven't been coming up a lot lately)

problem is, you have your shortcuts and links on one side, and your taskbar and currently running programs on the other. well i've made a shortcut for 3dstudio max, but it comes up with the default icon in the taskbar part. no problem right? but when i try to change the default in the taskbar 3ds wigs out on me and closes and i never get the chance to change it. does anyone else have this problem or an idea on how to go around it.

Are you starting with the latest version, clean, from scratch or are you working with a dock you have been updating,Like been working on and using.I have noticed that some of the shortcuts I created and kept thru dock updates seem to freak out when I try to change them.I am sure there is an answer though.

it's new, i just finally got object dock about 2 weeks ago and started from there. So far 3ds is the only program i have trouble with so far.

When you say "change the default in the taskbar"...do you mean you're trying to change the icon in the OD taskbar (or windows taskbar)? Do you have 3ds open and running when you're trying this? If so, maybe closing the program first, then right-clicking the icon to change, will work?

i mean the default icon that shows up in the task area of object dock, yes the program is running when i try to change it, it doesn't show up to change until the program is running

you can't change that on some proggies unless you change it thru the Registry....might be easier to just disable running apps in OD

change it while the program isn't running! It's gonna skrew up otherwise. Close 3Ds and change the dock icon. It should work...

but there is an icon to launch AND an icon for when the program is running, the icon to launch the program i already changed, it's the icon that shows the program is running that i can't change, and it doesn't appear unless the program is running.

I assume he's talking about the running app icon and not the shortcut. He can change the latter but not the former.........
