Is marraige a good idea?

I was thinking about getting married... although I am not serious with anyone
But is it a good idea? I like it... or the idea of it anyway. It just seems so peaceful and all that one-ness.

My husband and i have been married for 19 years (it sounds like a long time doesn't it), but the years have flown by in a pleasant blur. We have two kids (12 and 14 both girls)and they do tend to keep us busy! I didn't think it could happen but our marriage keeps getting better every year. I have been very lucky with my husband. He is my best freind, and we are a team against the world out there. Our marriage has not always been easy (we are both very stubborn) but we always work hard to fix whatever problems crop up. I would have to say that I truly don't regret marrying him. I really hope joetheblow can find someone like that for himself. And now I will stop preaching. Good Luck!

Kids make a maariage. They are a lot of work but the pleasure you get from them is incredible.

hmmm, Deborah and I have been very happily married for 16+ years now. No kids.
What we do have is a huge amount of love, mutual respect, and constant support. We look after each other. I think these things are what makes a marriage.
Children may be a nice addition to the mix, but I don't think they are what 'makes' a marriage.

Last Thursday my wife and I celebrated our 29th anniversary, and I have to admit is has been the best years of my life! At the time I wasn't sure marraige was for me, but in retrospect it was the best decision I ever made. I was VERY wild and as I now look back at my old friends who haven't setteled down or who are now dead, it puts my decision in proper perspective. It hasen't been children that has kept us happily together as we have no children (only the furry four footed kind) but a true mutual respect & trust that allows each other to grow independently. I wish you luck with your decision, take your time and you will know if the time is right.

You are correct that this thread has nothing to do with WinCustomize. This is a Skinning site where people come to enjoy uploading and downloading of skins, themes and walls. We use the Message Board to discuss and interact with others about our love for Skinning.
But here comes the human element. Over time, the interaction leads to friendship and friendship leads to a sense of familia(family). So now "irrelevant post" like this one start popping up.
Are you starting to understand what I am trying to say?

Mr. Janx, I once questioned the validity of having political discussions on the messageboards here at WinCustomize. Here is what I was told by Administrator KarmaGirl:
"....Saying that you don't like political discussions and don't like seeing them here is one thing. Repeatedly posting to a thread *telling* people to quit discussing it is different. Understand?"
This indicates to me that any topic is fair game here. Obviously this would also include discussions about marriage.
I believe this is the official line.

I agree with both of you. Yet, I still believe that I am right in that those sort of topics should be pursued in the correct chat rooms / message boards to avoid obscuring this message board which is entitled for all users to talk about customizing their Windows systems. Political and personal messages aren't really anything to do with that, unless it influences their usage on Windows. I am not protesting or anything like that, In fact, I am still kind of new to this site. I was just curious as to why these sort of messages are being posted on a site that has nothing to do with the postings. Still.

Matt.......lets put it this way.......WC is one big happy family (most of the time) and thats important to a lot of people. I have only been here a short space of time too but i quickly came to realise that there are a lot of people here that have known each other for years thru their mutual love of skinning and occassionally we have threads like this. Personally i like this sort of thread and it all goes back to what, i think ,it was "motion" said - FAMILY. This sort of interaction is good and that is why this is the BEST WEBSITE IN THE WORLD FOR SKINNERS.

God bless you all. I love this thread. I think it's nice to communicate on a personal level sometimes. Although I do feel a little down cause I can't relate (being single) But I know one day I will be able to relate and hopefully there will be a thread out there like this one in the future.
