Why does WC moderate at all?
Thursday, September 4, 2003 by kona0197 | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
I was just wondering why we do moderate. (just to clear up the issue in my mind) I mean we have 2 to 3 threads a week about "why was my upload rejected" and such.
I can see the obvious reasons for moderation would be:
1. make sure about copyrights,
2. make sure the work is not ripped
3. make sure it is not obscene or anything like that
but other than thoses reasons, wouldn't it make better since to not moderate at all?

| No please not again. Why not just read all those other threads and I am sure you will find your answer. |
HEY:
I was not trying to start another moderation thread. I was just trying to clear something up in my own head. I have read all the other threads.

Different answer for you then. Without any moderation this site would go to hell in a handbag and I myself would stop visiting non the less upload anything here. I am one of those who believe there should be even tighter moderation here.

are the only thing that is really moderated for quality. The skinning
sections are moderated for copyright, completeness, etc. If we didn't
moderate, you would be wading through the junk to find the goodies. Ever
try to really find something at DA? You can spend all day looking for what
you want and not find it. If you don't find it fairly easily on WC, then
it's just not here. We are also not an all inclusive "art" site like DA,
so you really can't compare the two. DA also has no control over its
content, which offends a lot of people. (we don't want that- we're a
family site.)

I will admit though that i uploaded one of my cursors a while ago and recently the Glassteel cursors but only because that was part of a plan.

There aren't watches here so why clutter up the wall section with tons of stuff just to have to wade through. Try to set up a system to skim the cream and it's more likely you'll find something you like in 2 or 3 or 4 pages instead of 200 or 300.
