ObjectDock .99 is amazing!!!

Sunday, August 24, 2003 by Stu L Tissimus | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I love the new additions, especially the docklets... I bet that now with docklets we'll finally be able to show what's in the system tray! YAY!!!

(Sorry, I just felt like saying all this. Good job to the developers, and everybody else still using .95> should upgrade!)

I haven't delved into everything that has been added, but certainly am pleased with the docklets. Personally I don't care about the tray part, since I use desktopx for that, although I realize many want that feature added.

Its a much nicer appearance than that bloody boring taskbar.

So where's it available from?

SDC still says 0.95 and clicking download still takes you to the download site with 0.95 on it.

C'mon, c'mon give it up !!!

Chris TH, you can get it here: https://www.stardock.com/products/objectdock/

MikeB314 keeps his fingers crossed for a system tray docket too.

I hope KKMenu will make it into a docklet in any form.

I really like the docklets concept, but the default weather docklet does not work for me, I don't know why. Is there a way to adjust its connection properties in any way?

Love the rotating globe. ObjectDock and Windowblinds are the two progs I use the most from Stardock. And I use ObjectBar to create my own task bar and running tasks bar (not in love with ODock's method, too much real estate, even thought I do like the new "attention" effects, besides just the bouncing icon.)

This is great! Keep it up

Rael, the weather docklet appears to pull weather information from Weather.com. If you can figure out what zip code works on that site for you, then it should work in the docklet too.

MikeB, you're right, because double-clicking the icon takes you to weather.com. But no matter what zip code I put in, it just keeps saying "Retrieving Weather Information..." without updating it.

I am behind a corporate firewall, I suspect that is what might be the problem. I will find out tonight at my home computer, see if it works there.

I'll bet that's it, Rael. Maybe you can talk your network admin into to opening that port up for you.

China, I find the Weather Docklet slows my system, otherwise, it's ok.

I'm loving it. I only wish I could get the clock to actually work. It's been the same time for days now

Same here. I have a pretty good system, P4-1.6GHZ 512 MB DDR RAM, not too many services running but the weather docklet really slows my system

Odd I haven't noticed any drop in performance with the weather docklet. I haven't bothered with the clock since I prefer the implementation I have through DX2.
