Questions about ratings

Hello all.

A few quick questions about ratings...:

I'm a level 3 user here at WC. I can rate skins, but I dont know where I can see a skin's rating. Anybody can point me in the right direction?

Also, people mention they can change their filter to a 4 or 7 or whatever. I keep looking in my profile, but can't see that option anywhere. Any ideas?

The ratings are displayed at the bottom of the image, right between [Comments] and [Download]

The rating filter can be change by clicking on Edit Account (on top of the page) and scroll down til you see this:

Web Viewing Preferences:
Popup windows: Yes No
Optimize Performance for: Speed Display
Icons: Visible Hidden
Max # of Skins per Page: 5 10 15 20 50
Show skins with this rating or higher: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 <-- set the rating you want to be displayed by the browser.

Jachyra, you have to be a level 4 or an apprentice to rate.

Thanx WOM, no problem anyway as I never felt the need to rate.

Apocalypse, as for changing the rating, there is no line like this:

Show skins with this rating or higher: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10

where you mentioned in the "Edit acount". Do I need to be a level 4 user to be able to change the rating as well ?

Confused here...

Edit: btw, there is no rating between rate and download on any skin I check...

Even more confused here...

Jachyra, Not sure if Citizens have that option. What you will need to do is E-mail T-Man and if you are supposed to have it, he will fix it.

Im a little confused my self Jachyra.
You stated that you was able to rate skins. A person that has the option of rating should also have the option of viewing that rates and the filter settings.
If you cant see either the rates or the filter settings, then I dont see how you can rate.
As WOM said, email T-Man and find out if your settings and options are correct.

A_67, if he can't see the rating, he can't rate. I think he assumed he could being a Level 3, but just being a Level 3 doesn't mean you can rate. Still have to be an apprentice or higher.

Uh, hate to spoil the train of thought here guys but when I was a level 3 citizen, I could rate, couldn't see ratings and couldn't set my profile to filter skins by rating.
I've seen posts by others that were level 3 citizens saying the same thing.

I know, it seems odd to be able to rate but not see ratings but it seems to work that way under some circumstances.

I have exactly the same problem as described above (I can rate but can't see the ratings unless I go into the comments section).
I am a level 4. Bug?

Just to clear up things a little, I have the option to rate a skin. But if I do, I have no idea if it's computed or not since I can't see the rating of the skin anyway...

Pictoratus says he can see the rating in the comments section. Well, I can't

Hmmm.. I think it's time an admin clears things up. If a level 3 can't see the ratings or rate altogether, fine, I can live with it, but at least, i'd like to make sure I can't first

Edit: I'd love to be able to choose the level of rating for my filter, tho...

I wasnt aware of this. All along I thought that if you was able to rate then you was able to see the ratings.

I guess is up to an Admin to explain how this works.

Mine used to be kinda screwy but it works fine now.At one time I could only rate stuff if it was on one of the side list.

In some cases a Level 3 could rate do to a fluke in the system but it wasn't set up that way. Yoyu are one of the lucky ones. Be happy. I.R., you are an apprentice and can rate, thats not a fluke.

Yeah I think I was one of the flukes that could rate before I was an apprentice.I didnt even realize I had made apprentice until pictoratus told me.I havnt a clue who promoted me but i am grateful and hope I dont disappoint them.

Well, like I said, I really don't care if I can rate or not. I would LOVE to see the rating of a skin, tho and CHOOSE the level of my filter (and actually know how high it is right now, as it's not showing on my profile)

Ok, here's the deal from what I understand...

There are 2 levels you can be...example...

You can be a Level 4 but still be a 'Citizen'

On the other hand, you can be a Level 3, but be an 'Apprentice'



In order to actually see ratings and change which rating you want to see in Edit Account, you need to be an APPRENTICE or higher. I was a level 4 user before I became an apprentice, and only when I became an apprentice I could 'see' the rating.

However, you can still rate a work with Level 3/4. When you click on any skin, you will see the rate box, above where you type comments (not in the comment window itself). You will not be able to SEE the current rating, only able to actually rate the work.

I don't know if this was the intentional way of working it, but as far as I know, that is how it is...I could be wrong.

Hus, you can also be a Level 2 and rate as long as your an apprentice or higher.

If I was not a subscriber, I'd be a Level 2 as I have not purchased anything on my account.

So what do you guys think...

Should I contact an admin to try to get the permission to see a Skin's rating and change my preferences (filter) in my profile?

Like I said, I really don't care about about rating skins. I'd prefer actually not having the right to do so.

It couldn't hurt to write and ask if it's working the way it is supposed to for your user level/status.
