Off Topic Question about e-mail

Does anybody know a site I would contact if I receive a e-mail I need to be confirmed if it's a real e-mail. Or if it's a way to capture people's info? I searched the site and everything for a contact e-mail and see if it's the real site. It looks real but I don't have a account with these people. They just have a phone number or snail mail. But I want to contact them by e-mail or find out if it's a scam. Any ideas out there?

Is it one of the many paypal, ebay and even bank scam emails that are going around the net? Best thing to do is to directly contact the outfit the email seems to be from and check. (If it's an email like I noted.)
Hard to advise without more info about the nature of the email. Unless you're just looking for a place that tells you where the email really came from, like spamcop for example. And some other antispam sites may help you decipher the headers if that's all you're looking for.

Weaksid, if you've been sent an email requesting information by someone claiming you need to update your info or such, ignore it unless there is contact information in the email.

If you have the email return address post it and I will do a trace route to see what information comes up for contact information as the registering contact.

I saw in the header it was created with "The Bat". I came across that program before when I was in my search for hacking info. It's a program that you can make your e-mail address anything you want. Like your friend's or company. I just wanted to make sure of how I would go about with this.
I attempted to find the e-mail address for citibank and I couldn't.

yes contact them and they will hammer em, also send your ISP and email to Abuse@yourisp.(com,net,etc) with that header information from the email in it...

Well the poster links to an aol.com address to report Citibank fraud to the bank, but that struck me as peculiar. I'd go to the bank's website or at least report it to the FBI and Secret Service (Dept of the Treasury). Both their sites have info on reporting internet fraud.
