hiya, yes im thick...I love this site and use it quite often 
I really want to make some icons, but not sure how or what program or package i need... can anyone point me in the right direction plz
nothing to basic, id rather be thrown in the deep end

Use a different graphic program like PaintShopPro to create .png images and then import them into Icon Workshop to change them into icon files of various sizes.
