Windowblinds and PLUGINS
Craving some rss feeds or stock infor right on my blind
Wednesday, June 10, 2020 by joeKnowledge | Discussion: WindowBlinds
Back in the day, say around the 2001-2005 era, WindowBlinds skinners would have all sorts of wild ideas. I mean its not like it doesn't get wild today every once and a while, but back then, it could get super wild. From animated title bars to wild sounds, shapes, whole skin suites, and of course, plug-ins
I think that there is so much potential with was plug-ins, but it doesn't get love these days. Then again I guess it didn't have so much popularity back then either but more people tried it and it worked out well back then.
I personally loved it! I'm trying to remember the names of some WindowBlind skins that had some things going on as an example (If I find them I'll post it below) that I loved. Some was just ink buttons, others revealed weather for the day or a RSS feed.
So I'm wondering what other people think.
Would yo like to see Windowblinds with plug-ins that show you maybe stock prices you are tracking, news, email alerts?

Once upon a time, in a galaxy bla-bla I remember being the second [not first] to do a WB skin with built-in Winamp buttons. That was literally 3 decades ago, and possibly pre-version 1 of Windowblinds.
30 years ago? Wow, and I thought I was here a long time lol I only got 19 years under my belt. Is it too late to ask if this place offers pensions?

It's one of those 'tricks'....3 decades doesn't have to be 30 years....21 gets you there...

I remember my "skins". They were not very beautiful (to say the least), but I needed to create them to test the plugins.
The plugins were abandoned because the software interfaces to make them work created potential opportunities for hackers. Although we have never seen them in the wild.
The first WindowBlinds plugin was fun to create and to my surprise a lot of people loved the idea. It took off when Brad liked the idea too and Stardock supported them.
Sorry for my late response. The last couple of years my health wasn't great, so that's my excuse.

Can someone help me to change the not focused tab or the tab addition icon, I am not sure how to post a screenshot but it is on any explorer window that the +´to add a tab or the text with a non focusseed tab is usually black or dark grey.
I would like to change the colour if possible.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your system.
- Windows 10 or 11? Also need its full build number. Please use Winver.exe.
- Is the issue appear with default Windows skin applied?
- Which WB Style? Does the issue appear with style that come with Windowblinds such as Arcylic 7 or Corporate?
Thank you.

Hi basj,
I am using Windows 11 build 26100 and with the default theme the text and icons are visible. All the WindowBlinds that I have tried have the text in a dark colour thus not making it visible. With Acrylic 7 it is just visible but not readable, with Corporate it is visible due to the light coloured theme.
Basically the text and new tab icon remain black or dark grey in colour no matter what window blind I use.

What happen if you set the Windows theme to dark? I tried on Acrylic 7 with Windows color set to dark. This is what I get.
Thank you,

If I set the Windows Theme and Apps to dark then the text and the icon is white but every window is dark which is not what I wanted.
I was wondering if someone could just tell me in the Modify Theme then Change System Colours which element it is to change the Toolbar font colour to white.

From what I know, that color can not be change, just like the font color on the taskbar tray area. Its either white when on dark mode or black on light mode. Maybe someone else can come in and share a tips on how to change it if it possible.
Thank you,

Now I just gotta remember who was first [I can almost visualize his name...but can't think of it]...
