What, no Radio Shack stuff?

Hey, the only problem I had in programming on my little TI back around 1980 was having to clean the darn cassette tape deck head so I could load my programs off the cassette tape.

Oh man... hehe, I remember using cassette to store and load stuff. Then I got my first single sided 5.25" floppy drive. WooHoo

Nevermind cassettes, I remember when you had to type the program in before you could use it. Then when you wanted to use another one you'd restart the computer and type another one in.

I remember sliding beads up and down on my abbaccus 1200, then I got the slide rule 2000, that was progress.

I remember punch cards, too. I was a keypunch operator a long time ago. I remember having to wire the Tabulator to print reports from these cards. (that pre-dates computers)

Hex kepad, massive 64 x 32 pixel screen resolution (displayed on a B/W TV), a whole 1k of RAM & EPROM, high speed 2400baud tape storage.

My first was a TI 1000 then an atari then the comodore 64, Which I had a 1541D Double sided 5 1/4" disk drive.
It's still in use today, My father uses it with his ham radio stuff...

we used to read programs into the General Automation minnies with a high speed paper tape reader, and ran the tapes into a large plastic trash can as they loaded. Then used a handmade movie rewinder to collect the paper tape back into a roll.
re CP/M: if you were good with 8080 assembly language, you could quickly piece together a program that would do anything.
ah, memories! ( you can keep my memories and that crappy old high speed tape reader too!)
