Now is a good time to check your bleach

Thursday, March 26, 2020 by DaveRI | Discussion: Everything Else

I thought I had a jug of bleach in the laundry room, I do not.  I have a jug of Splashless bleach.  It does not disinfect or sterilize, and in fairness it says as much at the top of the directions label.  I've been using that stuff for a couple of years in my laundry, I never would have bothered with it.

For obvious reasons, now is a very good time to know what kind of "bleach" a person has.  I'm not going to put any links in this, but feel free to Google "Does Splashless bleach disinfect" and I'm positive you can find a link you trust.

"This has been a public service announcement."

The might fall in the same category as antibacterial soaps are no more effective against virus than regular soaps.

The worst part of it is I've been looking at the directions this whole time every time I use it in the laundry to be sure I use the right amount.  I wasn't looking specifically for disinfecting and I never noticed the line at the top, just went straight to the measurements.      Hence my sense of obligation to mention it.
