Garbage Quality Control

Tuesday, September 3, 2019 by DrJBHL | Discussion: Personal Computing

Yet again insiders warned of processor spike and shortened battery life only to be ignored.

This time your bluetooth connection can be broken, as well all due to a botched update to Cortana.

Oh....I'm safe....my 2 machines on 10 are stuck on an old update fuck-up from months ago.

When I feel like wasting my life I Google solutions...and play Cluster-fuck Solver Hero Guy ....to no avail....

Yes, sometimes that's a good solution.  Windows 10 feature updates are largely smoke and mirrors in my experience.  I was an "early adopter" at first, but now I wait until Windows Update starts nagging before I bother.

Wasn't like I had a choice....Microsoft decided to try to update.....and is still trying.....or....even MORE trying....

If you've disabled Cortana (and I don't see in running in TaskMangler) & have no BT devices, are you good?

New windows step by step update procedure.

Step 1 Set your work hours,if windows needs to restart

during work hours windows will ask you.

Step 2 Never open and observe windows update, this will

cause the wave function to collapse.

Step 3 If windows asks you to restart, click restart and

take a 2 hour lunch, then return for the amazing voodoo.

Step 4 If windows informs you that an update failed don't worry

Microsoft is on it and will inform you if you need to restart windows.

Step 4 If windows informs you that an update failed don't worry

And just how many months does one have to wait before MS has fixed the 'fail'?

Step 5 If you can't update or your computer is bricked you could
buy a new $3000 dollar computer, this might put you on the front burner
for service from Microsoft.
Step 6 If your computer is still functioning you could turn off updates.
I skipped step 5 and went to step 6 in June of 2016 and have been happy ever since.

On the $10,000 dollar main machine I avoided Win10 totally....so I really don't care what MS does to everyone else....call me ego-centric...

It's the other machines I've allowed MS to screw up....
