hey you all!
what do you think of the following computer and do you think I should pick it up?
I have XP on disk and a CD RW waiting here. My computer is so slow now (500 mhz) and I think it might be worth it.
Your thoughts please!

Make sure the motherboard you get will support DDR PC2100 at a minumum. PC133 is on its way out. With PC133 slots only, upgrade path is a dead end.
Make sure motherboard can handle up to at least XP 2400 CPU (if for AMD) upgrade path same as before. A lot of 'deals' are discontinued MB's that have limited CPU upgrade ability, even with BIOS updates.
Get at least 350 watt power supply (400 - 450 is better). If you go to a faster processor, you'll need the wattage.

My eMachines system was only $650 (before tax) at Best Buy and came with WinXP, AMD Athlon XP 2400+, DVD-ROM, CD-RW, generic 32 MB DDR graphics card (shared memory), AC97 sound, 256 MB DRR memory card, and 60 Gig hard drive. Very affordable and I was able to easily upgrade it with a ATI Radeon 7000 64 MB DRR, additional 256 MB card, and a Creative Sound Blaster 16 sound card. I just added each these components whenever I had the money to do it. I also got Mandrake and repartitioned my hard drive into a WinXP/Mandrake 9.1 dual boot system. I am very happy with my powerful yet affordable system.

Whoa that's one cheap computer... I'd think a little harder before you buy this.

Buy stuff from Buy.com and they will send you Buy Magazine once in a while which is a catalog with the Buy ladies posing with products. Very sexy.

I put this parts list together pretty quickly...You could surely custom taylor it to your exact requirements...get the most bang for your buck Parts are cheap.
