Has anyone thought of 3d wallpapers?

Monday, July 7, 2003 by _GuardiaN_ | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

By that i mean those look carefully and a 3d shape emerges. HMm, thats kinda abstract.

I'll try to explain more fully. You know those pictures that look like random colours put together. You put the paper to your nose, and start to move the paper back SLOWLY, and if you do it right, a 3d shape emerges. Thats the best i can explain it. Can someone who knows what im talking about tell the exact name for this?

Anyway, make a wallpaper that uses this technique. Is it possible?

Hmm, Hologram like. A very interesting idea. Sounds hard.

Yeah, I could never see anything in any of those. No matter how I tried, coached by friends who kept telling me "come on man, it's so obvious, iut'.s just THERE! See?" ... Hum, nope, see nothing, sorry. No matter how I moved slowly forward, backward, squint my eys, blur my vision, focus, unfocus, whatever. Nothing.

I will say this, it took a long time to be able to see them, but found it much easier to see on a computer monitor (or behind glass)

I used to have a program for Win 3.11 that created those things from grayscale images

Unfortunately it won't run on XP

It would be cool if someone made an emtire them that was that kind of red/blue combination that used the 3d glasses. I would probably make people sick but it would be pretty neat.
