Getting Frustrated

For two days now I've been dealing with just trying to skin my Start Menu correctly in SkinStudio.
Is there seriously no good tutorials out there that can properly explain these tools? I've tried 2 (the only two I can seem to find) thus far, but even then I can tell their aged and I'm unsure what stands and doesn't stand and they differ in quality mid tutorial as they just suddenly go vague on some of the biggest points of contention with me i.e how they use the margin tool to fix issues but it literally does nothing for me.
This is an amazing program but by god I feel like the lack of proper tutorials is a huge determent to it and to my enjoyment of using it. And honestly I'll probably regret this post once I calm down but as of now I am extremely frustrated and angry as I've spent 10 hours across two days trying to get my start menu to work.
And all the issue is that I can't get the picture I'm using to align in it's parts, why is it so hard to get that to work?
