If I know cats, the cats would be The Organization and you would be ... the butler.

Yup. I get to feed 'em, clean their poop box, Yell at them in the middle of the night because they're rampaging through the house. Yeah, some butler. More like they're the boss and I'm the horse. Lol

Quoting Uvah,

So I am my own organization, number of employees...9. Me and my felines who think they're monkeys.

I think butler is overstating it somewhat!  Cats just have slaves.

As for 8 cats, though, one would be more than enough for me.... and Buddy, my multi-breed bowdler [meaning dog in starkers-speak].  He's never seen a cat and I don't know how he'd react, being the alpha male 'n all.

These days, one small dog is all I need as a pet/companion.

I'm just not a cat lover, though I did keep one for many years after my partner at the time [who originally brought him home] left him behind with me when we separated.  Yup, old Frog, as we called him, was a partner in crime with my Rottweiler, Nelson.  They were the best of friends, who ate, played and often slept together.

One thing I do like though, when I raise my voice, they vanish! Especially after I catch them getting into stuff and they get into everything.

I don't have to raise my voice with Buddy.  Nor do I.  He knows my 'annoyed' voice and responds to it.  He also has two looks on his face when he hears it:

The first: "Who Me? Now would I do a thing like that."

The second: "Oh bugger, I been caught again."

With the second look he'll often hang his head in shame, then look up with those puppy dog eyes as if to say:  "I'm sorry, please don't punish me."

Yup, he gets away with so much with that look, not that I punish him anyway.  Most times I distract him with a game, not that he's generally naughty.

Anyhow, how did this get on to pets?

Just thinking about what Buddy does that I'd rather he didn't, it's not that much really.  Mostly it's just two things.

He goes off chops when the postie comes on her little red bike, running up and down the front fence barking until she's gone.

The other is barking at residents of the apartment blocks beside and behind us.  They are going about their own business on their side of the fence, but that don't matter to Buddy.  Every so often one of us has to go out and settle him down.

Another thing is that he can be ever so impatient at times.  One thing is being impatient when he knows he's going for a walk and has to get his harness on.  The other is when we approach an intersection and have to wait for the walk sign to change.  He wants to cross the road come hell or high water, like he has right of way and all traffic has to stop.  Fortunately we have a good strong harness and leash.
