You just might be a skinner if...
Saturday, May 31, 2003 by Angel_Wings | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
2). You are tired, no wait…nix that… you are bloody exhausted…the day was too long and you tried to put some time in on your latest skin but you just didn’t have any inspiration so finally you call it a night and as soon as your head hits the pillow…”BAM! A great idea for your skin almost propels you out of bed!”… (The skinning muse keeps odd hours it would seem).

3). You jokingly start referring to your coffee as “Skinning fuel”.
4). You obsess over one tiny detail on a skin until your eyes hurt from staring at two stubborn pixels that just don’t look right.
5). You begin to regularly refer to yourself as a “skinner” and your family members just give you a perplexed look and when you try to explain what it is you do their faces go blank.
6). No matter what you’re doing you can’t get skinning ideas out of your head…example: You’re in the shower and stare at the bar of soap and think…”Hmm…nice color and texture, just might make a good skin!” or you’re in the grocery store and you notice a color of fruit that would be a perfect accent on the skin you’re working on and make a mental note of it. -Or you’re walking by a candle shop and start getting inspired by the color and lighting of lit candles and…well you get the idea…hehe.
7). You’re in the middle of doing some intense skinning and testing out your skin and the phone rings…and even though you know it might be important you let the machine get it. Hey, that’s what the machine is for, right?!
8). You download another skinner’s skin and stare at it for hours in complete and utter fascination, wonder, awe and envy of such talent and feel completely unworthy of calling yourself a skinner now. Boo hoo.

9). You dream up a super-cool skin idea and then take 3 months to try and make it actually come to fruition because the idea was pushing the envelope and instead of making it easy on yourself you decided to make it harder on yourself but everyone loves a good challenge…I think.

10). You congratulate yourself when you finally finish a skin and drink one too many beers only to wake up and find you got a tattoo on a rather embarrassing body part that appears to be the Stardock Logo even though you can only read it backwards in the mirror as “kcodratS” so you mutter and swear to yourself that you’ll never make another skin…hmm, well…until that next shower or inspirational visit to the market or mall anyway!

11). When people complain you’re never out and participating in life you say, “Hey! I might be addicted to skinning but at least it doesn’t hurt my liver or my lungs!”
This edit thing is nifty.

10. Your computer is worth more than your car.
9. Decorating for the holidays means installing a Christmas WinStyles theme.
8. Preparing to do your income taxes means searching the web for skinnable tax prep software.
7. Your spouse tells you its your anniversary so you rush to the computer and renew your WinCustomize subscription.
6. Your doctor tells you you have a bad disk so you run home to backup your Object Desktop folder.
5. You think you failed as a parent because your kid wants a MAC for Christmas.
4. Your taken prisoner of war and all you give is your handle, user level, and Stardock serial number.
3. Your idea of getting-away-from-it-all is to log in at devArt.
2. When you heard there was an outbreak of SARS in China you logged in to see how she's doing.
and the number one way to tell you spend too much time on WinCustomize:
Your spouse threatens to leave you so you say stop being melodramatic and email one of the admins first.

...Funny *shmoopy*, very funny. Now, Id like to call myself a skinner...but Im still working on that WB... I cant justify calling myself one until it has been accepted to Wincusto' and gotten AT LEAST 1000 downloads.
