Windows Tweak with the SendTo Menu...

I know this is a lil off-topic, but I'm lazy... google.com is just too much to type! 
I want to create a shortcut in the SendTo menu when you right-click on stuff. I want that shortcut to be a shortcut to the QuickLaunch folder. Trouble is when I simply add a shortcut to the QuickLaunch folder, it sends a copy of the entire file. I don't want that, I want it to just create a shortcut to that file. Like 'Send to Desktop (create shortcut)'. Any ideas?

The send to Desktop (create shortcut) is only a blank file created without any extention. This is encoded in explorer.exe . In short it is not possible to create your own using the same method as the above example. I think it would be possible using a script or batch file. ie: .shs .bat .vbs

bordfryr, go to Windows Explorer, and right-click on any file, a JPG or whatever. You will notice a 'Send To' context menu. Within that menu is a menu item that will say 'Desktop (creat shortcut)'. I want to have the same functionality as that menu item, only I want it to be 'Quick Launch (create shortcut)'. I tried viewing that 'Desktop (create shortcut)' file in notepad, as to see what it really is, but the file is 0 bytes, which leads me to believe its a registry setting of some sort. I dunno, I could be way off, it's prolly so easy to do...when I finally figure it out, ill smack my self. I still haven't though!

Static, I have this feature on my PC at work. Unfortunately, I have no clue as to which program put it there! >

well Virginia there is a use for a floppy disk... 
go into the send to folder at work and see if you can copy the file to a floppy. Its worth a shot.

Really simple guys...
Click Start>Run type sendto in the run box, it will open explorer.
Just drag and drop or copy and paste the program or whatever in that folder.
Close it and right click on your folder or pic or whatever it may be and check your send to menu...hehehe...pretty cool huh?

Zodiaq, I've tried that. If I place a Shortcut to the 'Quick Launch' folder in the 'Send To' folder, it simply sends a copy of the ENTIRE file. So say X file is 8mb, it will send all 8mb to the Quick Launch folder. I want it to simply create a shortcut to the file. But thanks for tryin' to help anyways. Preciate it.

Couldn't you just drag the file onto the quicklaunch bar?

Hum, yes, that's what I do. Drag the file on the quicklaunch bar, it will create a shortcut for the file on it. Why are you trying to make things so complicated?

I'm gonna try downloading some of those Windows Tweaks programs like Xteq X-Setup. I'm sure atleast one of them will have this!
