I'm sorry, but to me "scores in the upper 2% of an intelligence test" and "the better 2% on an intelligence test" really does sound exactly the same.
If I start a club admiting only the 2% of the population that are white with blonds hair and blue eyes, I'm certainly free to do it. I don't have to officially say that I consider that the be superior, but I think it's quite implicit.
The question would be then: why would anybody want to join my club? Just for the fun of hanging around other white blond people with blue eyes? (I'm sure they are a whole of a lot more fun than boring dark haired people) No, of course. They would join simply because it makes them feel good about themselves. Hey! I'm member of this club because I'm among the top 2%.
But I do think there is a hidden agenda, that is to match intelligent couples together so they make smarter kids. But thre is no evidence of that. Just a hunch, reading between the lines in their documentations.

OK, lets drop Mensa for another problem to solve. How about this:
You have 4 pieces of chain, with 3 rings in each. Your goal is to form a complete circle of 12 rings.
Like this:
- Opening a ring costs 3 cents
- Closing a ring costs 2 cents
- You have 15 cents
How are you going to do this?

By the way, as for IQ itself, I'm really having doubts on it. Despite having high IQs, many of the Matrix-fanboys on the Pointless Waste of Time forums still do not understand the true intention of the article that they attempt to debunk.

Psycho Janus. The drawing on the left is what you have, the drawing on the right is what you want to achieve.
Most people would try to open on link in each of the chain segment, and therefore opening and closing 4 links (20 cents). But Lecrayon gave the correct answer. Open all 3 links of one segment, use the 3 links to join the remaining 3 segments. 15 cents. Bravo Lecrayon. This is an example of what Hoppity was refering to as "lateral thnking". Some people call it also "thinking outside of the box".

Most members bring family, so the group is mixed between Mensans and non Mensans. Meetings are just a way of getting like minded people together, much the same as any other kind of meeting.
