Metallica!!.....................sell-outs?

Sunday, May 11, 2003 by ToolWraith | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Yea, they're playin this summer! But, who here besides me believes that they have become sellouts? No offense to those hardcore, head-bangin' fans out there, but they're playing with Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park! ...grr
(well, linkin park USED to be alright, until the radio and MTV [and the mindless, raving japs] killed them)

Their new, and permanent replacement, is Robert Trujillo. He’s a monster of a bass player. He played with Suicidal Tendencies, Infectious Grooves, and more recently did quite a few gigs with Ozzy’s “band”. Jason was good but Trujillo will fit in much better. Wait until you hear him play…

A permanent replacement? Imagine that. I always thought Metallica would remain a threesome until people get so sick of them that they force them into retirement.

Hate them all you want, but the new CD is quite possibly their best work to date.

Being uber-negative towards them cannot change that. The new CD is the best metal CD in a long, long, long time.

Okay, I will give them a chance when I download the MP3s from their new album and make a CD out of them.

The CD I am really looking forward to is Weird Al Yankovic's CD. This community would respect him because he always asks the original artists of the songs he parodies for permission even though he has no legal obligation to do so.

I can't wait for Weird Al. He really makes me laugh.

As an ironic side note, as said previously, Rob Trujillo from Ozzy's band has joined Metallica.
And his replacement in Ozzy's band?............Jason Newsted!

Very ironic. I wish the best of luck to Jason Newsted.

I agree with knatzz's thesis message #21. I am partially responsible for aiding and abetting the rise of this band including crybaby rock star Lars Ulrich and it just makes me sick. The early stuff they did was cool but their days as a band were basically over after their final release And Justice for all, as far as I am concerned.

I don't feel that bad about it cause it's not like I was saying seig heil while bodies where being piled like cords of wood, I was only helping to support a band that turned into a bunch of A**hs, its not like I was supporting a regime that participated in genocide, (a strange analogy) but when I see these guys do interviews and say all sorts of crap like James Crapfield saying” the people who support us are just loser metal heads."As well as other comments like the one I just mentioned,it sure makes me want to see their fall.

From what I recall of the comments that you’re quoting, they’re not precise and they’re taken way, way out of context. Put back into proper context the statement resembles this:

[when talking about fans who download music for free]
“… its not like we’re saying that all of the people who support us are loser metal heads…”

Now, again, this not word for word if it’s from the same interview/article that you’re talking about, but this is at least the correct context.

That is ironic indeed!

Newsted is from Kalamazoo Michigan...which is odd on its own.....

Are you suggesting that I try to find the exact Quotes and page citations of everything this idiot has said that rubbed me the wrong way? I suppose you want me to list the things that crapfield and craprich have said in MLA form with a list of works cited.

No, I would guess Asimo is merely correcting you.
Jeez, don't be so melodramatic.

Yeah your right... but I can't talk about this dreaded duo (crapfield and ulrich) without using melodramatic histrionics, I apologize.
