Font colours in WB4

Are all font colours adjustable? It seems to me I can't set the colours in the left column when you click startpanel-->search. Also in the control panel if you coose a category, only white fonts appear. Can I change them? If so, how?

Yes sylva, you are right. But the colour only is displayed in the "pick a catagory" page. Once you have picked a catagory the colours change to white 
I like dark window backgrounds, but every time I apply one, I stumble on black fonts that I am unable to change.

As far as I know, you can't change the font color in the search panel, I did a dark skin and looked for that extensively. If someone knows differently please correct me.

I think it's called a "hard coded" font. I do not believe that it can be changed. That is why you don't see too many true dark skins. If you look, most of the darker skins out there are actually using grey window backgrounds. You will always run into some kind of problem like this if you do a true black skin. Too bad, I like the dark themes myself.

I am almost relieved to see that it wasnt just coz Im a newbie. I spent hours just trying to get some fonts to change and wound up giving up and simply changing the color of my skin to something that would work better. I spent more time playing with the fonts in my last skin than I did on all other parts combined.

yeah, my last one was originally going to be a true darky, 0,0,0 for all the window backgrounds, I ended up doing 49,49,49 instead so at least the troubled fonts are visible. I'm pretty sure stardock know about this and are working to improve upon it as best they can. Though I think the problem is mostly due to the applications themselves. There was a thread not too long ago asking skinners for input and I think that was discussed heavily there. It Would be nice if they could fix the explorer search panel at least though...

At one point BoXXi worked some voodoo on his Carbon Fibre skin that changed the font color. You might ask him what he did to change it.

There are more ways to ask this question. Did you visit the newsgroups (this question may have been asked before) at news.stardock.com or Stardock's IRC server at irc.stardock.com yet? Often WBlinds is present in the #Stardock channel. If he is not too busy then he'll answer you. It may take a while, because he is working and does not always check the channel. Note that he is in GMT+0.
