Newbie Prospective Purchaser Question.

Thursday, May 8, 2003 by Elrikk | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Love the look of some of the desktop examples on the site.

If I buy the "Object Desktop" subscription (I already am a "Drengin Net" subscriber) is there anything from the Wincustomise site that will not be included. ? ie. anything extra I would need to buy make everything work ?

I have a P4 1.8 MHz, 512 Meg. RAM running WinXP Pro.

The Wincustomize subscription is separate from Object Desktop. If you buy Object Desktop, you will not be restricted by any download limit from the site.

A Wincustomize subcription allows for unrestricted download as well (admittedly a moot point if you already have Ojbect Desktop, or some other Stardock product).

However, a Wincustomize subscription also gives you accees to some premium skins, and an enhanced version of the Wincustomize Skin Browser. Plus the 20 dollars for the subscription goes back into funding for the maitenance and enhancement of the wincustomize website.

So technically, if you have Object Desktop, you don't need anything else. It's just a matter if the two perks above are worth it to you, or if wish to directly support the site via the subscription.

Myself, I have both Object Desktop subscription and a Wincustomize subscription. The perks with the Wincustomize subscription are nice, but I subscribed mainly to help support this site in my own little way via the $20 for the subscription.

If I've forgotten any of the other benifits with a Wincustomize subscription, I'm sure someone will chime in

CursorXP is a seperate cost, I think $10. Logon studio is a free download.

Like LogonStudio, ObjectDock (not to be confused with ObjectBar) is a freeware product as well.

CusorXP has a freeware version, but the paid version lets you resize the cursors and other stuff. As WOM said, it's a separate purchase.

Had surfed most of the site but was just a bit confused by the myriad smaller produstc and wether or not they were all in Object Desktop.
