Look in the folder for LogonStudio, you'll see a sub-directory for themes. Look in there and you'll see what LS wants to have for a theme. Make sure the ones you download have the same format.

Sorry I'm on a Win2K box right now so I can't go look and I don't remember if it uses a file extension or a folder for the individual themes, but if you take the downloaded file, execute it so it loads itself into that folder, then just go look at what it did and see if it made the same kind of file-set. It might be a deal where the distribution file makes a sub-folder with the working file inside. If so, drag the files out so they match the format of the ones that work...

Some logons uploaded here wind up being double zipped as I recall. For those that don't work, change the extension to zip and unzip them to the appropriate logon directory where the working logons are. Then see if they show up in the logon program and can be used.

1. Download and install LogonStudio.
2 Now download a login (with the .logonxp extension)
3. Double click the login file you downloaded. That should install it.
4. Start up LogonStudio and select the new logon you installed from the logon list. Press Appply.

If you don't see the logon in LogonStudio's list then read below.

Some .logonxp files that you download from here are actually .zips file that contain multiple .logoixp files. Sometimes the logon authors create multiple .logonxp files for different monitor resolutions and zip them up.

1. So, rename the .logonxp file to a .zip file and open it with a zip utility. If there are .logonxp files in the zip file extract them.
2. Double-Click the .logonxp file that corresponds to your screen resolution.
3 Go back to the first steps I outlined in the beginning of this post

Yes, yrag knows and he just told you. You change the file extension. Do you know how to do that? OK, just once here's a more detailed explanation. But gotta tell ya, this forum is not for teaching people the basics on how to use their computer.

You should be in windows explorer and find the logonxp file you've downloaded. Put your cursor on the file name which will highlight the name, right click your mouse and there will be "rename" on the resulting drop down menu, go to rename and click the mouse. The file name can then be edited. You'll see like blahblah.logonxp as the file name and what you want to change is just the extension, the bit after the period. So you would change it to blahblah.zip. Click away on a blank space so the name stays. Once it's renamed double click on the file and it should bring up your zip program. Unzip the file to your logonxp directory.

If that's not explanation enough, it'll have to do. I'm done.

it doesnt have blahblah.logonxp.... it only have the name TrailNet its not Trailnet.logonxp , but the TrailNet is a logonxp so how do i change it.... when i rename the Trailnet to trailnet.zip it doesnt do anything... it only changed the name and its still a .logonxp...

Files have extensions. You probably aren't seeing the file extension because you haven't set your OS to show all file extensions. Go to the help and support section in XP and search on "show file extensions."
