Do you believe in psychics?
Friday, May 2, 2003 by Angel_Wings | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
I still have my VERY distinct doubts…
I’m not saying I don’t believe that people can have a certain empathic/perception with people, and with family members you know them so well you have an almost ‘given’ predilection towards knowing what your loved one is thinking just by ‘basic instincts’ such as body-language, facial expressions, pupil contraction and expansion etc. etc. etc. I know when the phone is going to ring about a minute before it rings and my daughter giggles and teases me, I’ve often known when something bad was about to happen but that doesn’t exactly make me a psychic. If I was a psychic, I’d get a frickin’ lottery number and win…and I’d bet at all the casinos and WIN and I sure as heck wouldn’t take advantage of people who are grieving! ?
BUT, all that aside…
The people like “John Edwards” and “Sylvia Browne” etc. really give me pause and make me a bit weary and sad for the people that soak that stuff in like a sponge and especially the grieving parents of dead or missing children. I guess that infuriates me a bit!
I think the only way these people go to sleep at night is that they convince themselves they’ve ‘comforted’ the people who have lost someone but I just feel very cynical about stuff like that without legit proof.
Just some ‘stuff’ on both ‘psychics’ online:
John Edwards-

And as far as Sylvia Brown is concerned-

I dunno, but to me, ANYONE who makes $$$ for supposed “psychic abilities” is a fraud in my book.

Ewwwwwwww. Already had to use edit! Weird things with my apostrophes!

I forgot to mention supposed "Healers" too. Way back about 11 years ago when I was a full-blown holy roller Christian, my husband and I wrote this 'televangelist' about our nephew who was dying and we got a very 'dry' note back saying, "Sometimes the Lord yadda yadda" >
He died a few months later.

Not only did they leach off the media, but those that were in shock, pain and suffering.
Not once did they provide one clue to the whereabouts of this child who is still missing now since 1989, but had the audacity to say they were instumental in processing leads that "may have proved fruitful if only...."
I believe they are nothing more than charlatans feeding off of other peoples misery and misfortunes for profit and selfish gain.
When given simple tests and failing, they always had an excuse, which wonder of wonders, was not their fault.
As far as I am concerned, they are worse than the abductor that took the child.

And I'm serious too.
I don't believe in God.
I don't believe in psychic powers.
I don't believe in ghosts.
I don't believe in Santa.
I don't believe in Extra Terrestrials (I do believe there is life in other planets, but I don't believe they ever visited us)
Hum, what else?
Oh, I don't believe in Natural Therapy (for some small hillness, sure, herbs can do wonders, but most of it is just charlatanism)

Angel_Wings ponders, scratches her already 'over-scratched' head from skinning WB and thinks...
I must amend something, If I was super-psychic, I probably would go insane...I don't WANT to be in YOUR head since it's hard enough to be in my OWN (LMAO) and I don't want to be near or anywhere CLOSE to the dead! I don't WANNA SEE DEAD PEOPLE! And the lottery and casinos are another myth! The only ticket to any dream I'm gonna make real is my OWN damned hard work and desires.
Which reminds me...I love Micky Mouse! At last my prince has come!
