Hi Shmoopy, you have been sorely missed. I don't know all the details of your problems here, but no doubt there have been some pretty foul attitudes about. Hopefully the post by Frogboy will get noticed by all (Chill Out) and everyone will take heed. As far as "hijacking threads", some of the admins need to follow that advice theirselves. Not to mention certain 4-letter words. I think most of the admins have used some unacceptable language at one time or another. Not that it's my place to judge, but don't the rules apply to everyone? Not sure if I would say this site downgrades females. It might seem that way because the females that participate are out numbered probably 5-1.So as this site might appear a mans site, that doesn't mean that females are downgraded. I've mentioned this before that we need more female skinners and more females on the message board. We started getting sore women and I guess some people feel threatened.I guess they don't like outgoing women. As I get along with males and females I'am not bothered. That doesn't mean that I get along with all males or females on this site because I don't. But I will be friendly. Like I also said before, when you talk on this board pretend that your talking to your mother.

Being of the female persuasion, I have to say it can be a little intimidating sometimes to post messages knowing that there is a 5 to 1 ratio on this site!
I have leaned working in my profession as a decorative painter, I deal with a lot of men(plumbers,carpenters,electricians,contractors etc...) that the best thing is to just get in there and get your message across in a positive and friendly manner. You have to show that you are strong but not appear weak because they will eat you alive!!!
I personally think that if this site were just men it would be pretty boring!!!
I think the women here balance all you guys quite well!!!

I'm not discounting any of this, but why is it intimidating to post somewhere that is mostly men? Being a man, it is kind of hard for me to understand. I have played MMORPGs now for so long now that I don't even register a person's gender until they tell me. Most nicknames are so unisex that I wouldn't know one way or another. Lemme tell ya, even the name 'Gadget Girl' is no guarantee to someone that has hung out in online social areas for 10 years... 
Are there still people that will say " Oh, you are a girl..." and discount you? I can't imagine that here. It is so foreign an idea that I can't really grasp it. I realize that there is a significant difference in how men and women react to each other socially (as is demonstrated by this string, actually), but I can't comprehend being wary of a messageboard full of women (and lemme tell ya, i've been ganged up on by them plenty ).
I always heard this kind of thing from Doreen, but I thought she was just being... well... Doreen.

I will be very honest and say that sometimes women can be too sensitive and take everything to heart.
