I don't understand why my computer is getting stuck for 7 to 10 seconds whenever I let a sub menu appear Does anyone know whats going on with this or where I can look for the problem??

I just scanned for updates and yes it is there in recommended updates. I guess I'm running out of options.

Unless theres another way to do it out side of my start menu I won't be able to, is there? The start menu is killing me because you have to be pretty quick to not let any sub menus appear.

if FX icon is not in taskbar ( you can unload it from there) then open taskmanager/processes and end process on wfxload.exe

Transitions and Transparency effects take a real toll on graphic cards. Configure FX not to load on startup and then unload FX. Leave it off until you're sure that's the problem.
