Okay, "stupid is as stupid does" FG quote

Wednesday, April 16, 2003 by slinky1947 | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Okay, take a deep breath and ask this really stupid question:

I am a level 3 user. Want to rate skins. Should I be able to see a "rate this skin" button? Duh! I see a Comment and a Download only. Go to Comments and can only comment. Should I see something there? Gentle, now!

If one does not ask, how will one find out anything?

I am a level 4 user, and I have the ability to rate. Not sure about level 3.

I hope that helped

At level 3 you should be able to rate skins. Did you do the cross reference with your account?

I forgot to ask, did you purchase a Stardock product?

Keila, must be the cross reference thing. Never though to cross reference because I have unlimited downloads. Purchased WB,IP,Curxp,OD. Gonna go try to cross reference. Thanks

No, you can't rate. You are a citizen, level 3. You have to be at least an apprentice to rate or anything at a level 4.

You have to be an Apprentice or higher to rate, regardless of your user level. User level is simply a reflection of what you have purchased. Rank, so to speak, is a reflection of your contributions to the site and the community. A higher rank will give you the ability to rate skins. I looked through your uploads and I know you've been around here for a long time, so I promoted you. You should be able to rate skins from the comments page now.

Thank you MikeB and Jafo for the consideration you have afforded me. Wasn't complaining, I didn't think I could rate at level 3. Have a friend that just purchased WB IP and Curxp and kept telling me level 3 should be able to rate. I know what I read originally but she had me wondering.

Had a logon problem but went to the instructions, followed them and my logon worked. My profile still says 3 but figured having to re-logon must have had something to do with upgrading my status to rate. Sure enough went to comments and saw a rate button.

Keila thanks for the Yippeee. I feel so special......... (and now so do you)

umm ... I'm user level 3, a citizen, bought a product and I can rate (at least there is a place to on the comments pages. Maybe it doesn't really do anything)
Am I just lucky?

I'm not usually one for titles but looked at my profile again, was trying to get my website on there, and I'm an Apprentice. Now I'm really "bustin my buttons"

squirlze....generally it requires time and a 'history' to advance through various access levels.
Some members here have been involved in the skinning 'industry' for quite some years prior even to the genesis of this site...
