I have two pieces of carbon fibre from Formula 1 (found in Montreal around the track after the race). I think they are from Ukio Katayama's Tyrrell ('95-ish), as he had a nasty crash there during the race. One of the pieces is a flat piece of "skin", the other is a chunk of wing or something but you can see the aluminum honey-comb interior, very impressive, state-of-the-art materials.
Your theme looks good too BoXXi, just not quite as "real" as I was hoping for.
Maybe if the braid was at a 45° it would stand out more? I dunno...
Nice work. I shouldn't criticize, I'm not even a skinner.

Back about '86 or so, I had Prost's McLaren Carbon Fibre brake disk in my hot little hands....one of the first instances of its use in brakes...[they had trouble getting 'em hot enough to work]...looked like plastic, rather than carbon....though the bit of Minardi I have [from about '87] is a thin honeycomb section of side pod which is exactly like BoXXi's wall....
